Savory glazed beef over rice with crisp vegetables and spicy-sweet hot honey coating

# What You’ll Need:

→ Meat & Main

01 - 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or 90/10)

→ Sauce

02 - 2 tbsp soy sauce
03 - 2 tbsp hot honey
04 - 1 tbsp sriracha or chili sauce
05 - 1 tbsp rice vinegar
06 - 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
07 - 1 garlic clove, minced
08 - 1-inch piece ginger, grated

→ Vegetables & Extras

09 - 4 cups cooked white or brown rice
10 - 1 cup shredded carrots
11 - 1 cup thinly sliced cucumber
12 - ½ cup edamame, shelled
13 - ¼ cup chopped scallions
14 - 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

→ Optional Toppings

15 - Fresh cilantro, chopped
16 - Sliced red chilies
17 - Avocado slices

# How to Make It:

01 - In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hot honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until fully combined. Set aside.
02 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, approximately 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
03 - Reduce heat to medium and pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef. Stir continuously, allowing the beef to simmer in the sauce for 3–4 minutes until glossy and thickened. Remove from heat.
04 - Divide the cooked rice evenly between four bowls. Top each bowl with glazed ground beef, then arrange shredded carrots, sliced cucumber, edamame, and chopped scallions around the beef.
05 - Sprinkle sesame seeds over each bowl and add any desired optional toppings such as fresh cilantro, sliced red chilies, or avocado slices. Serve warm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The hot honey glaze creates this incredible sticky coating that clings to every crumble of beef
  • You can have dinner on the table in under 35 minutes even on your busiest nights
  • The fresh vegetables cut through the richness so nothing feels too heavy
02 -
  • The sauce will look thin when you first pour it over the beef, but it thickens quickly as it simmers
  • Draining the beef fat prevents the final dish from being too greasy, but leave a little for flavor
  • Room temperature rice works better than piping hot for bowl assembly, everything stays together nicely
03 -
  • Mix your sauce while the beef is cooking to let the ginger and garlic meld with the other ingredients
  • Prep all your vegetables before you start cooking the beef, the assembly goes so much faster
