Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows (Printer-friendly)

Fluffy marshmallows coated in silky chocolate and topped with sprinkles or nuts for an easy sweet treat.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Marshmallows

01 - 20 large marshmallows

→ Chocolate Coating

02 - 7 oz good-quality dark or milk chocolate, chopped
03 - 1 tbsp coconut oil or unsalted butter (optional, for shine)

→ Toppings (optional)

04 - 3 tbsp sprinkles
05 - 3 tbsp crushed nuts (pistachios, almonds, or peanuts)
06 - 3 tbsp shredded coconut
07 - 3 tbsp mini chocolate chips

# How to Make It:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Insert a lollipop stick or wooden skewer into each marshmallow.
02 - In a heatproof bowl set over simmering water (double boiler), melt the chocolate with the coconut oil or butter if using, stirring until smooth. Alternatively, microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until fully melted.
03 - Dip each marshmallow into the melted chocolate, turning to coat evenly. Let excess chocolate drip off.
04 - Immediately dip or sprinkle with your choice of toppings.
05 - Place the dipped marshmallows on the prepared baking sheet. Allow to set at room temperature for 30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until chocolate is firm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The satisfaction of that snap when you bite through the chocolate into the soft marshmallow inside is absolutely worth the minimal effort
  • These are the kind of treats that make people gasp with delight when you bring them to parties, even though they are incredibly simple to make
02 -
  • Humidity is the enemy here, so try to make these on a dry day or your chocolate might never fully set
  • Work quickly once you start dipping because the chocolate starts thickening as it cools
03 -
  • Hold the dipped marshmallow over the bowl and give it a gentle twist to remove excess chocolate without losing your coating
  • If your chocolate starts getting too thick, add another teaspoon of coconut oil and stir gently
